We’ve been on holiday and returned rested and ready to work! Well two out of three ain’t bad. We took our summer break on the Isles of Scilly and had a marvelous time.
The bees have been left unsupervised doing as bees should do – which is to diligently gather pollen and nectar and not have a Facebook party whilst we’re away. I’m confident that the Demon hive isn’t going to swarm and the allotment hive needs a little time alone.
Beer was drunk, dog was walked. Seaweed was foraged, turned into bread and eaten.
Seals got photographed – hundreds of times ( seriously, I took 600 photos, two thirds were of seals. ) and breath was righteously taken away by the scenery.
Many thanks go out here to the Ales of Scilly brewery for producing such wonderful brews. Booze may not be the focal point of our holidays but having a ready supply of excellent beers certainly helps us enjoy ourselves.
I even tried some Cornish pastis ( several times) whilst looking at the stunning views from Juliette’s garden and wishing that our stay was longer but also worrying about the bees and hoping they’re coping without me.
